There's a Serious Sam 2 preview on GameCloud based on getting to play with the beta version of the upcoming arcade first person shooter sequel. Here's an excerpt:
Graphically Serious Sam II has several steps up from the first two games; enemies and other characters retain the slightly cartoony art style but have a lot more detail and polygons. Lighting and effects are top notch as well. On our somewhat middle of the road PC (2.2 Ghz P4 and GeForce 6800 video card) the game ran very well with only a couple on very brief slowdowns in frame rate with a ton of enemies on screen. We also played the Xbox versions and our big worry was that the frame rate for the console would be bad with the same situation. Thankfully it was not the case.

While we haven't yet played the co-op multiplayer for Serious Sam II we expect big things from it, especially from the PC with 16 players plowing through the single player storyline (the Xbox only gets four player co-op). One of the best things about the PC version is the price; only $29.99 versus $39.99 for the Xbox version that arguably has less to offer than the PC version. The PC port will also have the Serious Engine mod tools included in its release and a deathmatch mode is supposed to be released by Croteam via a patch.

Can't wait for this! Played the first two games, they are so damn funny.

Says it's really really good, hilarious and fun when it's doing the straight blasting, but that it adds too much random stuff, tries to do too much and loses the razor focus of the original. Too much frippery, apparently. 82%.

Sam is: ludicrous, overstretched, hitting the adrenal glands
Sam is not: serious, focused enough, as brave as the original

thank you for that... wonder when the demo might be coming out... this still sounds encouraging, though
