Server Listings for Gentile Seniors like Myself

Hey all,

I've been playing DOD for a couple of years now, and one of the things I enjoyed about the old version was the fact that it had an older crowd playing. Since DOD:S came out, it's been nothing but kids playing on all the servers with decent pings.

I really have nothing against all ya'll littlin's, but the excessive homophobia, racism and general immature attitude really gets old (no pun intended!).

I'm not an avid gamer these days, just an hour or two every couple of days, so I'm not really the type to join a clan of like-minded induviduals. I just want to know of some good sites to find out about "adult" servers, or a list of such servers in the Bay Area.

Probably blind luck is the only way you'll stumble across such a thing. 99.8% of the servers on the internet are infested with immature little prats who like screeching into their microphones about that "mother****ing gay ****** haxor camping fagpotato **** noggin" and you'd be hard pressed to find one that isnt :|

Hopefully it'll become less of a problem as all of the twitch gaming CS kids get tired of it and go back to CS, and the DOD community is whittled down to the more mature, hardcore players.

Join some respectable clan's server. In my clan we have a mature group that admins the server pretty well. I dont have the IP off hand, but I believe its called AIrBoRnE's Drop Zone.

There isnt always people playing, but as soon as 2 people join, in like 10 minutes it will be full. Just grab a friend and do 1v1 for a few minutes if you need.

Yeah. Find one with good active admins with a strict no racist/bigotry remarks and it'll be good. Because as soon as those little twits connect, they get banned as soon as they open their filthy mouths.

If I join a server not yet rife with crude language and dehumanizing remarks, I "heave a havana" as my peers say it, all over the server's chest.

Yeah, I have absolutely no problem with "bad" language; after moving to the States from London, I had a couple of my local pubs in Chicago full of people using language that's the norm back there which really doesn't go well down in this country

When I first started playing, I absolutely though all the servers stating "no racism or discrimination, no foul language, etc.." and the like, were set up by big gaming sites for kids, but I now see it really is to keep them away!

God, I feel old.

Uni of Teeside have a DOD server and, as with all other tees servers, Racism / homophobia can and mostlikely will get you a perma ban. I am an admin there, and go on regularly.

31 player (1 reserved) class restrictions, ff on, dedicated server ran out of chicago. I have several other admins who help me run the server (still adding more) to ensure our rules posted in the motd are followed. Of course you get the occaisional loudmouth/tker but if they fail to listen to warnings they are perma banned no questions asked.

not all players are in their tweens (I'm mid 30's). but I agree the servers seem to be populated by mostly young'uns

Personally, Jackson, I recommend a server called Cain's Lair (I don't have the IP with me right now). Older crowd, normally has an admin on it (all old farts, like you and me).

Great group of admins and the server rules are kept by most people who play in that server. And if they aren't kept, well, one reason why the admins are so good hehe.
