Server Prob

Hey when I make a dedicated HL2 DM Server i dont get good ping. I get like 80 when I am the only one in there and 100 and above when other people are in there.

Also when i make a listen server I get 20 - 5 ping. Also no one can connect to my listen server.

I have the port 1200 UDP open for steam and 27015 UDP for
half-life.

My internet connection is a 5mb Up and 800kb Down line, from rogers cable.

My specs are:

AMD 2500+ 1.9GHz
512MB Ram
GeForce FX 5600 256MB

So you are running a dedicated server and running a HL2 client on the same box to connect to it? I am sure that is too much being running HL2 client is choppy for most people in DM. When I start a listening server I ping like 20 heh.

Well even when I run a dedicated server and I dont play other people still complain of lag.

Also when I go on other servers I get like 40 ping no problem.
