Hi,
I am running HL2 on a P4 2.4 512mb laptop with only 64mg graphic card, in general HL2 runs reasonably well, however at certain points when a lot is going on it slows down something chronic. I am running on the auto set values in the advanced tab as when ever I try to change these I get the well known 'memory could not be read' error, so I play the game with the occassional 2fps feeling.
I was wondering whether there is any other way to set these options?? for example using the launch options, or userconfig.cfg or even a registry hack..
I would basically like to drop all options to the lowest setting i.e. the model detail, texture detail, shader detail etc...
Is there anyway to do this??
