I've read that you can alter a couple of settings in console to help with low speed connections.

How do access the console and what setings should I alter?

Many thaks in advance.

to access console to go options ->Keyboard ->Advanced ->Enable developers console (~)

I can't get the consol to display.

I think the main problem is that I use a UK keyboard which has a different position for the ~ key. I tried rewriting the config.cfg file to map the console key to F12 but this hasn't been successful.

Once you have enabled it in the options, try using the key above tab, next to the 1 key. Thats what i push for the console on mine and its a UK keyboard..

for 56k:
rate 4000
cl_cmdrate 25
cl_updaterate 18
cl_smooth 0
cl_interp .01

that works well for me neways, then i just double the rate when i connect up on two lines :)

He means he does not know what he is talking about.
Those rates dont look correct for 56k - are there any better ones?
