Hey I'm having a problem getting my computer to maintain a stable wireless connection. What I am doing so far is plugging the ethernet cable as well as the wireless usb device. Doing this I am able to get a good connection on both. I can then disable the wired lan and disconnect the ethernet cable and the wireless still works at this point.

However once I reboot my computer I am able to connect (signal strength is good, etc) but am unable to renew my ip address. I'm sending packets but not receiving them. I am configured to obtain ip address automatically for both ethernet and wireless.

Any ideas?

I think you need to access the computer that is connected to your router and launch the software that came with the router. Use the software to configure your ports.

I've never done it though, so I can't offer any help.

When the router was installed you should have been prompted to create an encryption key to share with other computers so they can connect wirelessly.

are you on an encrypted or open connection?

You definitely will need the key if you want to connect to an encrypted transmission.
