can someone tell me how to lower the shader detail in the launch options, because whenever i go to the advanced video settings from the game options the game crashes

Sorry man, I really wanted to help. I tried looking at the Config file and seeing what to edit to make the shader detail low, but I can't seem to find which one of the lines to edit. You should give it a try to see what you can come up with.
keep searching here and www.steampowered.com, there is a fix that will allow you to get into advanced options, i know i've seen it somewhere
