Shadowrun Beta

I've had the beta since December.

It's pretty fun. You do put a lot of thought into the class and magic and weapons you use throughout the round.

One bit that is annoying, but probably by design, is that it can be tedious to do magic switching on the fly...

I think Shadowrun is really fun though. If only the beta had more gametypes or maps so we could get a better feeling. There's only two maps right now. One with attack/defend and another with neutral CTF.

I've heard almost nothing about this game...
But, the devs pretty much gloat about the "extremely balanced cross-platform" game play every chance they get.
I've seen screenshots and videos... and they don't look that special to me.

So after playing it..Think Counter-strike but with elves and shit :| Go through round. Get Money. Buy Magic. Or Tech. Maybe a gun. Repeat until match is over.

Easy way to win a round: Be A Troll. They take alot to go down. Get a minigun. Get the tech that makes you aim better. Destroy everything.

Sounds stupid.

Hmm, wow you noobs don't know how to play yet :P

You can easily counter the above scenario by using wired reflexes and getting out a katana. First, with wired reflexes the Troll can't lock on to you. Second, with the katana out you block tons of shots and only few actually do damage to you. Then you just go up close and slice and dice. Easy.

You need to strategize with your team on how you can all balance each other.

For example, in the first round, you usually get your best shooter or two to get a real gun instead of the pistol, while everyone else usually gets resurrect. That gives you an edge.

Then it's all about just finding weaknesses and exploiting them.

The game is actually really fun, but it's just that the new people haven't exactly learned how to play quite yet. :P Give it time, and play with friends! It does make a big difference.
