Shadows.... and Gameplay effects

I'm wondering what everyone else thinks about the new shadows. I for one am not really happy about how they affect gameplay. In the CS:S beta, everywhere you walk, it looks just like you are using the flashlight, but instead of a white light projecting in front of you, its a big dark spot. It would be different if you saw a true "shadow" projected by a light scource behind you, but as it is, if you turn your veiw, the shadow moves as well. IMO it is kinda a downer because you can see people coming around a corner a mile away. might as well have wall-hack.


So what do you all think?
 
When I was playing at the Cafe, the shadows were just long smudges of black blob (did that even make sense?). I wouldve changed it but I couldnt. Anyway the shadows did help me find the enemy before i saw him. I think they will help... a little.
 
shadows look fine and great for me.. you can tell player shapes, and they do give away positions (got 3 guys last night because of their shadows)

I like shooting cans and throwing my gun at people (around a corner) confuses people a lot of the time hehe.
 
I like them... :thumbs:

I've yet to kill someone because of them though. But it's fun to shoot objects and watch the shadows.

kinda sucks that spud was over when he got the source so i got to play it, now i dont really want to play anything else lol. i never noticed the shadows when i was playing

I feel the exact same way :( Valve better move their booties and get this game released!
