Everything's fine with his game (no choke, low ping, etc) and his computer handles the game fine graphically, but for some reason he's experiencing a looping "hitch" or "stutter" in the game. Sometimes it causes him to freeze and then warp around a bit, but usually it just means that there's a noticeable "hitch" when moving around or shooting. He's restarted his PC/router/modem recently, and made sure no program or computer is using up bandwidth on his network. Can anyone help him?

:D!

Thanks love!

My excuse for not posting it myself is because I was in TF2 already. :p

And some bandwidth. You can find it at most torrent sites.

Why the hell did this thread go downhill? Is it out of line for me to ask that?

I thought it was a worthy thread that deserved its share of intelligence and helpfulness from the community, but apparently, you trolls have decided to derail this thread.

I can't believe what I have witnessed. :(

/pat

Anyway, tried starting a local server yourself and see if that has the same problem? That would eliminate network as the problem I guess.

Create a file named autoexec.cfg in ...\Steam\SteamApps\YourSteamID\team fortress 2\tf\cfg. Open it with wordpad. Add the following two commands exactly as you see
them:

cl_forcepreload "1"
cl_predictweapons "0"

Save the file. Look for a thread on this forum about changing the heapsize and follow those instructions. This should hopefully stop the sound loops. It worked for me anyway.

Nicky0123 is also having performance problems...

...as we all know.

Spy Sappin' my processor...

anyway, would buying RAM help to stop lag in TF2, not ping lag, lag in the sense that my processor cannot handle the majority of TF2 battles anymore.

Adding more RAM to your PC will increase the speed of TF2, as well as other programs on your system. Upgrading your graphics card will also speed up TF2.

That's not exactly true depending how much RAM you already have. If you've got 2GB, adding another 2GB won't hardly do much at all. Putting a better CPU in, however, is never a bad idea.

And yeah better GPUs = better performance, obviously.
