The loss of Sharon, even just from the political field if he survives and retires, would be a huge blow to peace efforts in the region. Could see a Likud takeover again from Kadima.

Kadima essentially takes the best stance on the issues, dealing and responding in force to acts of terrorism but making true advancements/compromises to secure peace in the region, rather than just holding out grudgingly till the end.

Sharon had a role in the massacres at Sabra and Shatila in Beirut, the court ruled he had some personal responsibility for the massacre and was dismissed as Minister of Defense

he's not exactly a saint

The french government had a role in the genocide of rwanda, but you seem to give them alot of praise, or not enough scorn. Whatever suits you.

Good heavens, you can't even mention Sharon, Abbas, or anything related to the conflict there without causing an argument. Maybe there is some kind of curse on that general area: anyone attempting to run a nation there is doomed to eternal warfare - even the mention of the conflict will cause typically rational people to break down and begin quarreling. But I'm an optimist - THIS time their open-mindedness will help them overcome their differences and peace will reign.

...or they'll continue to stew in their own juices and millions of people will continue to be miserable for it. :|

Didn't you hear me say that America deserves much blame too? Very few people helped out during the Rwanda genocides. I'm disgusted by it. Clinton, united states government, france government, united nations, etc. Just wrong.
