Hey guys. I shattered my dad's LCD display on his phone yesterday while working. I guess there was too much pressure exerted on the thing. The outside is fine, no damage... but I looked at it after I got a call, and realized the screen was all ****ed up.

I hope this isn't expensive to get fixed? Any reliable place I can send it to for fast, cheap repair?

It's a Nokia... what model I don't know.

Just get a new display cover/phone case on Ebay, should be possible for under $20 for most phones.

Thanks man, I'll check it out. So you think it's a fairly easy and straightforward repair? Cool. Just pisses me off that it broke. <grumbles>

Except you said that the screen itself was cracked, the lcd part, not the case. Dinnesch just suggested a new case. In terms of repairing the lcd screen itself if it's shattered, there's nothing possible that I know about, mainly because the lcd is quite firmly attached to the phone.

Insure it.... then in a week claim the screen

Well I did some research and saw that you can buy replacement lcd screens that go into it. Not sure if it'd work on this simple model, but I don't know why not.

I have a buddy that does this Iphones,he said it's not to hard to do-just need patience.

What type of phone is it?
(eg Slider phone, bar phone, flip phone, etc.)

It's just a solid piece. No slide, no flip. My dad isn't big into fancy expensive stuff like that.

I'll have to figure out what model... it's a Nokia but we don't know what model.

pop the battery off the back, it should tell you the model number either on the battery or the inner groove. Then google that model number and lcd repair. pretty sure theres a fix for it. if you have a Sim card, buy a new phone and pop the Sim card in the new version. he may never know then. if not just tell him the truth
