please help...i don't wanna do console commands as they lower gfx quality. I never had this problem before....wtf valve?

are you talking about wall/ floor textures?
try validating your files

Try moving your cfg into another folder or renaming it to config.cfg.old or something, then css will make a new standard that wont be "tainted" by settings you have added yourself, then you can take them from the .old and add them a few at a time so you can see wich command makes the problem. I had the same issue and it was mat_dxdiag that made it ****up for me.
