Shoegaze

Not really much of a shoegaze fan, but was always partial to Slowdive. Don't know why. There's a bunch of unreleased songs of theirs floating around which I really like a lot. Moreso than the music that was actually released :O

I guess you could say I'm a fan since I listen to it. I also like Dreampop.

Yes... Soon has been in my top five favorite songs for almost twenty years. I'm also partial to the Verve album Urban Hymns for this sort of thing.

when i was at the 10th year anniversary of ATP last year, there was this old dude who had been there all the week before at the my bloody valentine ATP and he said it was the loudest gig he had seen ever

but then i went and saw sunno))) and thought nah this is probably louder

loveless is a good album, though.

It's hit or miss for me. Some that do it are INSANE, like Alcest Others bug the crap out of me, like Explosions in the Sky. I actually walked out of one of their shows because it was so annoying. Those song structures needed work!!

I like shoegazing a bit but mostly just MBV and a lot of shoegaze-influenced music (TV on the Radio etc). Loveless blows my mind.

The Jesus and Mary Chain are more noise pop than shoegaze, tbh.

Anyway, I like shoegaze a lot, although I haven't listed that much to it, the only shoegaze bands I've explored are Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine, both of which are fantastic. I also appreciate some shoegaze-influenced music, such as early Blur, Pulp, The Raveonettes and Tegan and Sara.

Umm so I totally suck at putting things into genres, but EITS kinda sorta are really not shoegaze at all. Also I hope you gave your ticket to some poor soul who actually wanted to go but maybe couldn't get a ticket, as their shows typically get sold out to a bunch of idiotic drunk girls and unappreciative twats who constantly shove their elbow in your side while yelling really loud in the middle of songs.

Heh, I kid :)
but not really
especially not about that jerk that kept elbowing me

...Ahem, so, Slowdive eh. These are my favorite unreleased:

AND BOARDS OF CANADA RIGHT

well derp. i listen to a lot of electronica/ambient/psy whatever that can be compared to shoegazing or said to have shoegazey influences so i sort of left all them out. BoC is a good point though
