Shogun total war II?

hey there.

any fans of total war will agree that Shogun was a great game that had some crap features
(terrible battlfield & campaign graphics, no normal swordsmen, no settlements, innacurate castles ect.)

well I personally think they should make a shogun II, that's like medival II exept with Samurai.

what do you think?

A revisit to the game wouldn't be a bad idea, I just don't think we'll be seeing one until about 2/3 years after Empire.

& to you mikael grizzly, shogun is probably one of the most historicaly accurate games yes, but as a game there are some things it lacks

you can get the aztecs (and maybe the mayas) in Medival II total war: Kingdoms, not sure about the incas though?

S:TW was ace, I loved the fact that the Japanese never used siege weaponry, not because they weren't capable but simply because it wouldn't be judicious to destroy a Castle you could use yourself.

Also have to say I preferred the Seasons approach to S:TW it made a lot more sense and I was put off the later games by the move away from this.

of all the games in the series, i played Shogun the most, and i would love to play a new one.

not a bad idea at all.

that and i think the medival setting is becoming for RTS's what WWII is for shooters. . . and that's a bad thing folks.

A new Shogun would make sense, as they did a medieval 2, and would seriously kick ass if they made it historically realistic. But I would prefer a Middle Earth Total War - they could've made a mint if they had jumped on the bandwagon a few years ago, the total war engine is the closest thing to Massive and is just begging to be used.

well there is a mod that lets you play total war battles in middle earth, I dont know if its any good though,

the thing they should change mainly are the graphics and the fact that you cant get normal swordsmen,

they should definetly keep the Ninja assasaination movies, they rock.

I'd prefer Rome: Total War 2. The first one is still my favorite part of the series, mostly because of the setting. Although I can't wait to play Imperial: Total War. Those ship battles look prett damn awesome.
