my score: Moderate Social Liberal

"You want government out of people's personal lives, but you appear to desire some continued government control over people's economic activities. There is no political party that represents your views. You need a mix of Democratic, Libertarian and possibly Green politicians in office. The ratio between these depends on how high up your dot is on the chart. (The Green Party probably runs the most candidates with your views, but the overall Green Party platform is much more socialistic than you are.) "

some of the questions didnt have answers I was looking for so I approximated ...it's somewhat accurate in a general sort of way

Wow...

I also scored (Moderate) Social Liberal. But you know what I think? that the questions were posed in such a way, that anyone who usually votes left will end up scoring (moderate) social liberal. That's just a prediction, let's see more results. Nice fun test btw.

Wow. Moderate Libertarian. Says there need to be more people like me in Congress and state legislatures. :D

My score: Moderate Libertarian

Hey! We need you in Congress! Or at least in your state legislature. At least I think so...

The Libertarian Party runs the most candidates with your preferences—along with candidates who are considerably more radical. The Republican Party runs a small number of candidates with your preferences—along with many more candidates who are considerably more authoritarian. If you are on the left side of this area, you might find some Democratic or even Green candidates to your liking.

Be forewarned that the Libertarian Party currently far more radical than you. It is likely that you disagree strongly with many of their positions. However, there is a move afoot to fix this. In fact, that movement was successful in getting rid of many of the most radical provisions in the Libertarian Platform during the 2006 convention. Check out the current LP platform and see how it matches your views.

Radical Liberal:

You want government out of your personal life. On the other hand, you want more government in your economic life. This puts you closest to either the Green Party or the radical wing of the Democratic Party. You might even consider yourself a socialist, or a "true" communist (as opposed to the "state capitalists" who ran the old Soviet Union).

"You might even consider yourself a socialist" Hehe.. I consider myself as a moderate-socialist (in the Swedish political way).

Small Government Centralist apparently whatever that means, I don't really hold strong views or opinions on many of those subjects so I took a mild liking to whatever one in the options seemed good to me.

Your views call roughly the same amount of government with just a bit more liberty than we currently have in the United States today. Thus, your views are probably best served by a nearly equal mix of Democrats and Republicans in the legislatures, with perhaps a few Libertarians thrown into the mix to nudge things in the direction of smaller government.

Note that I said just a few Libertarians. The Libertarian Party calls for much bigger cuts in government than you want. Think of a tub of cold bathwater. To get it warm enough to be comfortable, you add hot water, not ideal temperature water.

Moderate Libertarian.

im moderate libertarian too, just outside centrist. which sounds about right.
If i had to choose between republican and democrat though it would most likely be republican.

This test is extremely US-baised. I mean, the most left-wing you can be is liberal

I prefer this test.

There's nothing wrong with that - anyone left of liberal is a certified loon, as is anyone right of conservative.
Besides, anything which excludes Solaris and DaMaN is good in my book... :D

*Black woman's voice* Mm-hmmm!

Anyway, it is aimed towards Americans. I think I'll try the other one, too.

(Moderate) Economic Liberal

You want government out of your personal life, at least to some degree. But you want more government in your economic life. Politically, you appear to be a solid Democrat, though you might also find the Green Party appealing.

question: which side of the spectrum are the democrats?

They're the tr---- I mean, in this test, I'm not really sure where they fit in. I'd say Liberals, but I'm not familiar with the sub-catagories of the left. But I'm pretty sure Liberal is the most common catagory of Democrats. Not sure though.

I used to think they were centre-right, objectively speaking. However, in some respects they are way more "out there" than the worst aspects of our own left-wing parties, so I'd say they defy easy classification.
They push for inroads to socialism yet have little respect for individual liberties either (ala Hillary's war on computer games) - worst of both worlds.
Kind of like the Labour party, but not as bad. I'm not sure Labour's unique brand of government influence on the economy and government control over how people run their own lives could be called anything other than "authoritarian".

Liberal-Learning Centrist

Your views call for roughly same amount of goverment and liberty that we have today, with a smallish desire for more personal liberty and more government involvement in the economy.

It appears that you are relatively happy with the status quo, though you probably want a few more Democrats in office. However, there are limits to what this quiz can measure, so this assessment may not be correct. (Since you are near the center, the "signal" may be be smaller than the "noise.")

I got exactly the same as Stern, although I consider myself much more authoritarian, especially in economic matters. But that quiz doesn't count that.

You desire less government control of the economy. On the other hand, you want more government control of people's personal lives. You appear to be a good solid Republican. However, you might sometimes prefer the Constitution Party candidate.

Uh huh. Sounds about right.

What a shame BTW. I thought the more radical the better. Right y'all?

But this test is for US citizens only, in my country I support right wing Green party and pro-European union democratic party.

I think I got the exact same thing as you Stern.

no big surprise ..I am moderate

Small Government Centrist

Sounds about right. Says the current Libertarian party is way to radical for me at the moment which is true. Kind of bothers me as that is where I would go in a heartbeat if they weren't quite so extreme. They aren't even very libertarian on some issues. Also my views draw from both democrats and republicans and I don't like either of them, so I'm pretty much screwed.

Something I had fun with a few years ago was Nation States. Basically you are in charge of a nation which is shaped based upon your responses to various issues that arise daily.
I've been thinking about playing again. If enough other people were interested we could even make a HL2.net region!
