Yeah, right. I don't think a skin could add actual iron sights, shorten the barrel/magazine and pump, add the opening/cover on the bottom where the shells are loaded, and move the ejection port to the right side where it's supposed to be.

It's a Wichester 1300, but the one in the referrence you posted has a rear iron sight which needs to be added (and a different front iron sight).

Thx for pointing up the mistakes, Ill fix it shortly.
 
It looks cool, but the (W/e you call it... ummm, where you pump each shell to be fired) looks a bit too skinny. Should be a good deal fatter than the barrel
 
at the end of the day you dont need to aim with a shot gun :p

ummm, can i see a wireframe, cause that looks a little more than 1600 tris. guess it depends on what that count includes ?

also, theres a few glithces in places. around the handle, it looks a bit dodgey and on the underside, the barrel sticks out a bit.
 
Almost all of the cylinders could have been done with 12 sides, and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in a game. That cylinder under the buttstock could be done with 6-8 sides since it's under the back of the gun and won't be seen in first person, or easily from any angle. And there's a lot of places that you can remove polygons/segments without losing any detail, like the horizontal part of the trigger guard, it's flat, and yet it has about 5-6 segments. You also need to go through and delete all of the polygons that are covered by other objects, like the rear ends of the barrel/magazine for example.

What else is in that scene? What's giving it the extra 8300 triangles?
 
Sure i gonna optimize it further when i see how it looks in the game. But i dont like these recktange barrels on my renders so i made it more or less round.

8k poly is in the whole scene (ie 3 shotguns) with high poly bullets (actually many sides)

ps. i already tested 12/14 sides barrel, i didnt like it. But as i said, for the game i think i gonna make it 12. But 1600 isnt so mush. I wud say its low.
 
I like it a lot. I didn't care much for the HL2 shotgun as it looked too much like a box (the typical SPAZ-12 style). I was envious of Father Grigori's shotgun. It looked like some sort of wood/stainless steel single barrel pump gun. You should see if you could add a flashlight mount on the bottom. If you are in to coding or know someone who is, you could make the flashlight follow the gun (ie, when you pump the slide, the light moves with the gun). That would rule.

My hat's off to you.
