when 1.6 first came out the shield was my fav 'weapon'. it wasent as cool when i realized you cant hit people with the shield itself.

Yeah thats true...but I remember one time I actually played CS 1.6 (other than certain "special" times ) I grabbed a shield to see what it was like and just basically won, even though I never play.

however the shield could introduce some cool team-tactics if done correctly.. otherwise as you said, its the crux of a game... its frowned upon (and rightly so) because of it's cheap nature.

then again if you are a good CS player, taking down someone with a shield is pretty damn easy (if alone).

well heres another idea if u dont want the health bar...if u get shot in real life and u have a shield the shield is gonna move to one direction...well in cs say u get shot and ur shield moves lets say to the top left corner of ur screen well maybe people can shoot u when that happens and u try to move ur mouse down to protect urself...(i like the health one better...have a para and unload!)

sry - you are wrong and narrowminded.... it's really easy to kill a person, carrying a shield. And noobs with a shied are totally funny. If they kill you, then maybe you aren't good or they are no newbs

rofl, soooooooo many ppl bitch and moan about the shield. now they have taken it out of source, the majority of ppl who voted say bring it back (at least thats wot the poll says atm). I rekon that they should leave it, personaly i never use it as many others dont, and yeah it is mainly for noobs but i dun really care. im not enuf of a hardcore cs play to care wether or not its left in or brought back, but it was a nice change for the same ol gameplay in cs, even it if is bugged as hell in 1.6 . I say bring it back.
