So my first upgrade to prepare for the DX10 era is monitor, right now I'm on Newegg and my best bet seems like this

Thoughts hl2.net?

i guess if that prepares you for dx10

good monitor choice. i would either pick a samsung or a dell.

Doesn't Acer have a decent 22" screen for a low price?

But acer uses those shiny screens, that increase contrast, but have annoying reflections.

wow that's a really odd size, havent seen that screen before ..21.6" why not 22"? ...wonder what panel it uses ..the internets says it's a TN ..the 22bw uses either the philips or the Chi Mei ..weird it seems to have the same specs as the 22" but it's $60 cheaper .oh and all 22" monitors (the Belinea may be the exception) use the chi mei panel so besides specs they're mostly the same

the viewsonic 2025bw was the best of the viewsonics as it used a MVA Optronics panel the viewsonic 2035 uses the more common TN panel which is better for gaming but pales in comparison in colour accuracy

basically I'm just looking for anything bigger than 15" with minimal ghosting, and a bright lush screen. I'm not picky about ratios or companies; any specific recommendations?

So far I'm leaning towards the one Deathmaster just posted.

ed: or this

Hmm my dad might have that Acer (2051w). If he does I'll have to see if I can get some pics with CSS running on it or something.
edit
Anandtech forum thread recommends it for Multimedia although says it has 'input lag' and may not be good for gaming. But also says not many real world complaints on it.

Go for the Samsung if you don't mind the 2 in. difference. Or wait, which is what I would do at this point.
