Should I upgrade?

I was wandering if anyone knew about how much of an improvement i would get if I upgraded my computer w/ a new ATI grapchics card liek the 9800 xt or something.

Current Specs:
Pentium 4 2.53 ghz
512mb sdram
80 gig hard drive
(crappy but simple) soundblaster live! value
Nvidia GForce 4 ti 4200 64 mb

I figured if I could save up enough I'd get the Radeon 9800xt or X800 since they come w/ hl2 coupon

Get the X800 if you want a new graphics card. Your processor seems fine. Could probably use another stick of 512 RAM .

Wrong, 9800XT comes with a hl2 coupon, the X800 DOESN'T.

ahhh, i remeber when i still had a ti4200, good times, i played avp2 on it, generals, ahh the times... and then i got a 9800pro and said F*(% this piec of crap

I would probably recommend a 9800 Pro and use the extra money to buy RAM. The X800 Pro requires a fast processor (3 Ghz +) to take full advantage of it. You can use the X800 Pro but your system will not maximize its potential.

My 9600 AiW came with a coupon...But I'm still buying the game cause I think Valve deserves it.
