some thoughts; you may not agree witht hem but please mull them over before responding. many things have been said in other threads far better than wht i am about to say but bear with me.
1. to all the people who rushed out and bought 9800's on gabes advice "Don't believe the hype" in the imortal words of NWA. doen't get me wrong i feel bad for people who blew a wad of cash for the card but hell you still have a 9800 and i tend to doubt that their will be major leaps and bounds in the next coule of months that are goignto make a 9800 obsolete.
2. for those of you who were too young to remeber the initial release date of hl1 it was almost 2 years before the game came out. for 2 years they kept pushing the release back; and i'm personally glad they did; having seen what they had in 96 it was god-awful compared to what the final release was.
3. for those pissed at gabe think about this. How often does Geroge Lucas answer fanboy E-mail regarding Star Wars. Does Dr. Dre take phone calls at home regarding his next album from fans. When was the last time you received a E-mail from Zakereed Faied (sp?) regarding his next op-ed piece in newsweek. We as a community have been spoiled by the fact that Valve treats their fans like human beings rather than commodities so perhaps cutting them a little slack is in order.
