Im no computer genious so this question may look funny to you lot hehe. Anyway... How do I find out if I can upgrade my computer because I think mine is one of those family pc's pieces of crap

Compaq presario 5000 series
athlon 1.6
256mb ram
64mb graphic card

Yeeeaaa.....definately a family pc piece of crap. You shouldn't upgrade it, you should buy an entire new set.

i have a compaq presario but older one 1.2 ghz i have upgraded pretty much everything that needs to be upgraded , sound card, ram, and plenty of video cards ( more than four) so yes you should be able to upgrade you computer

you can upgrade those parts very easily, anything else you might want to ask someone else first..

for RAM just find the sticks on the mobo and find the switchs on the side of the ram and push them in to pop the stick out and place the new stick in, dont force it in too hard, but apply some pressure untill you here the switches click up and the stick of ram is secure

and for the cards, just have to unscrew them and put the new card in.
