Dated? These games never get old, and the graphics are still amazing.

yes its good. I got the deluxe version for x-mas that includes rushhour ...wich adds some cool things to the game.

Yes get it...I got Sim City 4 and the Rush hour expansion and its great. I liked the tohers but this one i actually play more than once a month.

I had a thread like this actually a while ago and it convinced me to get it so...

Sim City 4 is hard, I cant play it without cheats. The people all yell at me when I dont spend my money, and when I do I start losing it all to upkeep...

Then they all pay the price when I bring my mighty robot from hell to visit them...

Has anyone tried experiment with regional cities? So instead of having commercial, industrial and residential in one city, you just have residential and connect up the cities. Its time consuming but you get entire citys covered with huge commercial buildings.

i hate simcity 4 so much. i bought it, but gave it back quickly. there is no structure or objectives- its just like the sims but less fun. Why? its all about building a pefrect balance, which involves the basic things- then upgrading them and increasing all the residential/ buisness/ commersial areas... then getting bored. there are these special buildings (like eiffel tower, big ben etc.) that you can only afford and sustain if you have a working city bigger that the map allows.
BUT i say this and its gr8 fun to mess around and have quick matches with (when i say quick i mean hours- the game takes time to build a GOOD city). but the thing is after a while you will just be repeating the same processes of building specific amounts of areas and hospitals etc.and it will take hours to get a city that is origonal in any way. it needs devotion, basicly.
i dont know about rush hour, but it looks like it adds to the game what it really needed- fun. If so, id get the game AND the expansion or neither.
*edit* and its pretty easy without cheats, u just cant do anything fun until you get an income bigger than imaginable.

yeah without the expansion i would imagine its not that fun, but in Rush hour you get quite a lot of new features as well as the option to do mission in the vehicles which can be quite fun.

do u actually get structure? i would have actually loved simcity 4 if it gave something to aspire to other than a personal best. its not like missions would have been hard to do, anyway, after all the effort they put into the engine.
and what does rush hour actually add except vehcles? and what are the new fetures?

yep, i filled up an entire region like that.....just make sure you have highways connecting each city.

half my region was rural farmland....and i had a recreational city ...a garbage city and the rest of them were either residential, commercial or industrial
