SMOT is a simple gizmo that practically proves a net gain in energy for the same input, its best understood viewing the diagrams and the video footage.

SMOT is a magnetic ramp, the test uses a metal ball that reaches the end of the ramp pulled by the inclined magnets to an exact point where gravity takes effect, the regauging point where the ball drops and rolls up a fixed ramp on a flat surface where then the maximum distance rolled is measured.

best let the vids do the explaining, but it is a wonderfully simple example of more output for the same input.

the video's at the bottom give the clearest idea so i advise watching those first and then reading through the page, they are in real player and windows media player format, and require the codec which is also include on the page.

I don't get what the video is trying to explain...

But I always thought it was obvious that one could utilize gravity and atmosphere magnetics as an energy output, it's just a very small producer.

yes but before the output of energy created was less than the enerey used to start it. now here the energy is greater than the input. i think.

for the same input when using SMOT there is a greater energy output, consider the principle then think about putting the process in a closed loop system with sound mechanics...

you get ideas like this: http://jnaudin.free.fr/html/rmodmk1.htm - where there is potential for endless rotation through propulsion through the curved SMOT ramp to a key point where gravity regauges the system and takes it back through the process again, because of the SMOT ramp it can continue because of the now constant 100% excess in efficiency output.

http://jnaudin.free.fr/html/rmodmk2.htm

the main problem at the moment is the regauging process, if the materials and position can be refined the regauging process can become more efficient to the point of a sustainable rotation.

'fraid not. Not only do the magnets fail to overcome thermodynamic entropy, but they also fail to generate any energy. The only thing happening is the conversion of magnetic energy into kinetic energy.

In fact, energy is lost because the ball finishes up in a state of lower potential energy.

If there was a way for it to reach 113% efficiency, it would be breaking the laws of thermodynamics. NEXT! :)

*nods head, but doesn't understand a word*
You guys are baking my noodle here- so this is a huge step for enrgy production, yes?

wikpedia is right, but when they say free energy, they mean they are utilising the free energy of the magnets and putting it to useful work, magnetic energy is a natural manifestation of zero point energy that is essentially a source of free energy if it can be harnessed, because your dealing with a force that doesnt diminish because of constant replenishment from vacuum. Mainstream science likes to twist the idea of free energy to work in favour of their ideals.. usually helps keep them respected and in a job :P. But i do have to say thermodynamics is not nesserserily incorrect but instead is either flawed or is most likely missing pieces of the puzzle, but id still love to know how we can think we are correct in every aspect, when we dont even understand gravity or magnetics properly, infact classical EM theory is so obviously flawed in many aspects it boggles my mind as to how people can develop their understanding still using it unchanged to this day, over 100 years on since it was written!.

so basically bliink is twisting the term free energy to suit the textbook explaination, because harnessing 'free energy' or 'zero point energy' in terms of magnets 'IS' exactley that, 'converting the energy into useful kinetic energy successfully' in this case... therefore getting extra kinetic energy for the same physical input.

but they also fail to generate any energy.
if they dont generate any energy how do they cling to certain metals, matter is energy, you and I are energy, how can magnets possibly have no energetic effects.. yet they are able to induce electricity, and encourage healing, and give a ball movement. Everything in this universe is energy, Thermodynamics is incomplete not to mention old, there are new wonderful things being discovered but mainstream science's beaurocrats wont hear it because they dont want to know, there are alot of ignorant waste of space scientists that hate talking about this, but the funny thing is you can ask them about the essence of magnetic energy, and they dont really have a bloody clue, just some set numbers based on a dozen mens findings a hundred or so years ago.

who said they got thermodynamics right?

If you claim you have a device that is 113% efficient (like they did), you have got thermodynamics wrong. Which is what I was pointing out.

EDIT: But I think I see what you're saying..

When they say "free energy" I assumed they meant the physics meaning, which is essentially a euphemism for "perpertual motion contraption" or "greater unity" device.

The SMOT has been around for 10 years... its not like this is anything new either.

I assume you mean "free energy" as in economically?
...or "free energy" as in beer? :p

I was under the impression that energy is never created nor destroyed, if this is true, then obviously there's no such thing as "free" energy in its most literal term, even if there is a large abundance of the required materials. I would imagine, in my most feeble mind, that, like something bliink might have said, that the magnets would lose their magnetivity or something.

Wayyyy out of my league, but sounds too good to be true, or blown out of proportion to make it look like an amazing producer.
