Simple question about HL2 models

I have about 10 or so models all created and ready to import into Half-Life 2. These are all weapon models, and I've been wondering, is there any extra things I need to add to the model besides the geometery itself for it to be usable?

Like bones or such to define, a hitbox or somthing else that the engine would need to know about the model.some mesh that is used to define where the weapons model will be connected to the camera.

I am able to export and import my models into HL2 I just need to know if theres any of that "extra" information that I need to incorporate into the model.

apply the texture with a multi-sub material and make sure it's on ID nr1

Yep I've done all the stuff needed to the model. I'm just wondering how you go about adding the extra stuff, if there is any, for a weapon model.
