This is one of the major downfalls for episodes.

This sucks, even tho sin was an alright game, i enjoyed it and was going to buy SIN 2.

Hmm honestly I regret buying Sin, wasn't worth it at all so I don't really care if they're going to close shop. Lots of other games to look forward too, and Sin 2 wasn't/isn't on that list.

Its not confirmed dead. Valve stand to make some heavy money off of it, so they may well invest to build it back up.

As for my own opinion of the original, I suffered (like many) with the big that made the game VERY hard to beat. However, taking into account the fact that it shouldn't have been that hard, the storyline was enjoyable and the game itself was well balanced (Considering I did eventually beat it even with the obsurdly hard enemys).

It's like the original SiN game, but on a new engine. It's not 1998 any more guys - HL already raised that bar, and you just limbo'd right under it.

Plus the whole point of episodic gaming is to release the next episode before your audience completely forget about the last one.

But as I've always said, if it's going to take this long to release Episode 2, how long will it take to release all 9 episodes? I had a feeling that something was wrong when we didn't hear anything about Episode 2 in about July/August.

Jesus Christ, people shouldn't always take the word of some random guy who's decided to jump to conclusions, just because some team members have left. It wasn't long ago that we were all saying S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was vaporware. Now it hasn't been released yet but I think we can all be pretty sure that they'll release something next year.

In an episodic project, the first episode truely does scout out the direction that the rest of the 'season' should go in. Specifically here, the direction was 'angled 190 degrees down, into the bin.' But it's all good: Because Sin Episode One was frankly a pile of arse, developers, publisher and consumers alike caught wind of its bad odor and wouldn't waste any more money on it.
