From that I can't tell what video card you have installed. Type dxdiag into run to find out. It'll be under the display tab. You may have outdated sound/video drivers.

It says:
name; mobile intel(r) 945 express chipset family
manu: intel corp
chip type: intel GMA 950
approx total memory: 256 MB
current display: 1280 x 800 (32bit) (60Hz)
direct X features all enabled

drivers:

main driver: igdumd32.dll
version: 1.14.0010.1409
date 1-2-2008
DDI version: 9Ex

Sorry if thats too much info, i wasn't sure.

Your video card, or lack thereof, is the issue. You can try -dxlevel 80 in your launch options, see if that helps.

Open up your games list, right-click on the game, go to properties, and then Set launch options. Enter -dxlevel 80 in the field provided.

Playing games on laptop results in fail...

* Open Steam's 'My Games' list.
* Right click the game and click 'Properties'.
* Click on 'Set Launch Options' and enter this string into the box :-
Code:
+mat_forcehardwaresync 0 -autoconfig +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1
* Click OK.

Also, you can add -dxlevel 81 to force DirectX 8 mode for better performance.
It's an issue with the Intel GMA 950 graphics card driver.
