Yes, but Shuz, look at the clips and trailers and shit. This movie looks so, so, well, it looks cool. Whatever your opinion of the actors, this movie is tailored for people like us. Click the link in my original post and watch the World War 2 era planes fly underwater. Please. SOOOOOO COOOOL!

its cool, but kinda lame at the same time..pretty uniqe style of the movie tho..

No no, I wasn't looking down on it because of Angelina Jolie.. I was just trying to remember if I had the right movie in my mind :)
Read my edit

that looks like a must see movie. And Angelina Jolie is (IMO) the mos beatiful girl in the world

Jolie definately is hot. heh. Looks kinda funky to me, but probably because its a thing from something in the 50's or so I imigine? It looks like it could be good though, I might check it out.

Mmmm. You wouldn't say no, would you. You probably wouldn't even stop to say yes. Plus isn't Gwyneth Paltrow in this too? She's also gorgeous.
Anyway, this film looks insanely inventive and will hopefully be fantastic. Jude Law's great too.

I wanna see this movie almost as much as I want to play HL2. It just looks that cool.

Every person I know(outside of this forum) thinks the movie looks terrible. We just got some crappy display for the movie and everyone laughs at how terrible the movie looks.

I hate Jude Law, he's a horrible actor and can be upstaged by an ape.

It looks pretty good, but the acting in the trailer was meh quality at best.

I don't think anyone is onscreen in that trailer for more than two seconds anyway though, so I'll leave it to people who have actually seen the movie to judge.
BTW the movie was originally scheduled to come out at about the same time as Spiderman, but the movie studio moved it in the hopes of not being crushed. In fact they think theres so much promise in it that they've already started making deals for two more movies.
I was intrigued because the movie is almost entirely the result of one guy: he did the writing, directing, and even wrote the software used to make the movie.

What was the deal with the Stargate music playing in the background though?

I hope will be not another bad quality superproduction
and also hav a game, how is the game?

I like the 30's setting, the biplanes, the robots. The one thing that gets to me is the planes with flapping wings, they just don't look right. Plus they remind me too much of Dune

Four words: Willing Suspention of Disbelief.

If you can do it, this movie will rock.

If, however, you have a broomstick stuck up your ass and demand realism, then this movie will suck.

Its supposed to be like a 1930s pulp comic....what kind of moron takes that too seriously? It's got prop planes fighting giant robots underwater.

You have no idea of how many people cant give that sort of thing a fair break.

I mean, really, from the start, The Fifth Element screamed "over the top, not too concerned with realism", but most people just sit there and say "that wouldnt happen, that cant happen, thats stupid".

i agree this looks cool, btw i loved The Fifth Element. An open mind is a good thing.

I suppose I've always been a bit frustrated by that attitude myself, since I've never had a hard time suspending disbelief. I mean as gamers we should be awesome at it, since we can pretend that sprite is a real person and that ammo really does spin and float.

I remember seeing the trailer for that. I like the style of it. Looks nice.

Woah! When did you meet my mum?

Seriously, it's near impossible to enjoy any of the movies that she considers "Stupid" with her in the room. That goes for "silly"-stupid as well as "unrealistic"-stupid. Though she has gotten a little better lately.

[EDIT]: Come to think of it, my sis is a bit like that, too.

I gotta get out of this house...

This movie reminds me of Crimson Skies for the Xbox.

This movie does look really good. The unrealism only makes it better.

Fifth Element is one of my favorite movies btw.

The first time I saw Fifth Element I was fairly young, and my reaction was pretty much "What the hell?"
Now that I'm older and have read many of the things that the movie pulls from I think its a really cool movie.

sky captain looks great, i just watched the trailer. i love the idea of the movie, espacially the setting looks very gothic and evil, plus there are giant tin robots :D

I love The Fifth Element, especially the rock-opera with whatshername Laguna.

I dunno really. Laguna is a type of car made by Renault.

It looks....***bbish. Did anyone notice that they used the Stargate music in their trailer?

I don't know about this one. I hate to judge based off a trailer alone, but it looked to be pretty much your standard action movie with an over-the-top 30's look to it. Don't get me wrong, I like the look, but I'm not sure about the rest.

Scoring the movie is often one of the last things done with it, so trailers very often use the same music. How many times have you heard the gothic-sounding chanting in the trailer for The Two Towers?

Gwyneth Paltrow = can't act out of a paper bag and is annoying

General info: The piece is called "Requiem for a Dream" by Clint Mansell.
