Hi, when i play Hl2 doesnt matter for how long, i then quit the game back to deskktop, my windows is soo slow, its using 140+ meg of memory usually it uses a max of 113meg. Could this be a memory leak within HL2? Also how do i go about fixing it.

PS i have set the -heapsize 348000...in HL2 & CS Source, But cs source doesnt make my windows run slow after playing?

For how long does Windows remain slow? I know for me it takes about 1-2 minutes before I can click anything right after playing.

it remains slow for as long as i keep my pc running, the only way i know to fix it is if i reboot my pc

Woah thats weird. Have you tired seeing if it is really closed, like going in the task manager and seeing if it is still open? If it is try closing it.

Yeah that is odd, after I quit HL2 I usally have to leave my computer alone for 10 to 15 seconds while it dumps every thing and then I have no problems.

Maybe you need a RAM defrag after playing HL².

I get this sonmetimes for a sgort time. It's not that bad but it's noticebly slower.

I do check in Task Manager and neither Steam or HL2 is running? What is this RAM defrag? How does it work?

Cheers

you possible got no memory left when u come out of hl2 thus computer is slow, until the memory gets unloaded out then the computer speeds up. check this with a program like CACHEMAN. you can get it to free up memory so it will run normally. Also u can get it not not hold the .dll in memory for longer then is needed etc.
