I WOULD be a decent commander if I could get the damn console to come up. It seems holding the caps key down for a few seconds brings it up. Then again, sometimes it just doesnt come up at all. Does anyone know if I'm doing something wrong? And yes, it's when I'm a commander or squad leader.

yeah someone plz actullay expain how this commander mode works plz

Hit Caps Lock once to bring up a map, click anywhere on the map and it should bring up a list of commands you can issue. Squad leaders can only request for UAV, supplies, and artillery. You can also point at an area and hold t to bring up a set of commands.

To open the commander mode once you are accepted as it, hit your 'squad' key. Default, I think it is caps lock. That will bring up the screen, which will show all your options. In the top left, has the little timers showing how long before each thing you have access to, is available. WHen one of them is available, you click on it, then click on the map where you want to apply it(except for scan, it scans the whole field slowly from left to right). To get a better view of the map, or to zoom down to an actual in game look of the top down view, right click the map, and click zoom. It has three zoom levels. One maximum out, one closer in, and the top down 'in game image' view. Pretty cool for watching your artillery barrages.

To issue commands to particular squads, click on it to the left side of the screen, the right click on the map where you want a particular order you then select to go. To send messages to the squad leader of a particular squad, right click on the little icon of it to the left side(I think), and select the talk option you want.

Other than that, I know nothing else about commander. I suck as it.

Commander is pretty easy. Hit caps lock to open it. In the upper left are your 4 abilities. Scan, Artilery, UAV and supplies. The first 3 can be destroyed and artillery will be destroyed often. If that happens just drop supplies next to it and it will repair itself. Other than that just use the UAV often to let your troops know where enemies are(they can see UAV but not scan). Also artillery often, it is tough to time but can be very devastating. Just try to nail people taking a flag or spawning.

Issue commands to good squads and sometimes they will listen. If you have VOIP you can talk to your squad leaders, this works much better. Just give them and idea of which bases are open to take and have them go there so you can pin the enemy down to one or two bases so it goes downhill from there for them and you end up owning.

The ARTY repairs itself when you drop supplies? I did *NOT* know that. That is sweet, thanks!

Oh, and on the timing for arty... I did a scan once, and saw a whole mess of infantry moving from the southeast flat, to the hotel... and I 'planned ahead' my artillery drop because I knew there was a delay. They walked right into the path where I wanted them to be, and in 5 seconds flat, every last one was dead... about 10 kills for me. It was sweet.

I thought you would see the Battlefield from above??
in realtime

If I'd realized that before.. (Once I hear that, it's like.. duh.. obviously since it repaired vehicles)

Man, I don't think a LOT of people realize that. I've had so many commanders screaming for us to fix the artillery (I do, but whenever it happens they flip out immediately ;p)
