Once upon a time, there was a popular video game called Counter-Strike: Source. One day, it recieved a small update incorporating an enhanced radar and high-dynamic range (HDR) lighting on de_train. Everybody lived happily ever after. The end![br]For the full (short) changelist, click here. For those of you without suitably powerful rigs, we have also included a picture of HDR lighting in action:[br]

Besides the bugs that came with the update, this was great. Man soon the game will be perfect. As long as they keep their attention on CS:S for a few more updates.

I like it, I play better.

Weren't they going to change weapon costs?

"My Eyes!"

rofl.

That's the perfect size. I propose that every news post has an illistration of that magnitude!

"The player's eye height while crouching now matches their in-game player model eye position more closely"

Guess that may fix the hiding behind boxes while having a clear shot thing.

I love this update <3

Wrong. Your view is higher now. You may complain, but it matches the player model far better.

Indeed. It was always funny when I hid with a friendly player, both of us crouched behind a box, thinking we're completely hidden. Then I look over at him, and I see that his head is about a foot and a half above my eye level, even though we're both crouching. Then I think to myself "Oh, goddamnit..." about a half second before we get headshotted.

I did notice that when one of my communities CSS server updated, all the plugins and mods stopped working for CSS. And when he tried to download the file, mostly got "connection to peer reset" for the longest time...

I havn't played this patch yet, because I only really play on that server lol.

Yeah, maniadmin has basically been disabled by this update, but they've already released a quick patch and are working on completely fixing it.

I always thought this was a bigger issues for standing players really. Not so much because the eye level is wrong but the fact your gun will shoot through the wall more or less if you can see over it even if your gun should be about chest height. The model doesnt match whats on screen for the attacking player.
