Smash Bros Brawl -- ONLINE!!!

To be honest, Brawl would have been a pointless venture if it wasn't online. It's about damn time Nintendo took the plunge.
 
Though I don't like the idea of nameless random brawls, it should still be ultra fun :D

The idea of being able to practice on sandbag while waiting is ingenious.

NB Super Smash Bros. Brawl does not have opposable thumbs and cannot operate heavy machinery.

We're getting excited about the possibility of online play? Did I somehow teleport back to 1998? Would be utterly ridiculous if the sequel to the #1 GC multiplayer game didn't have online play in this day and age.

It would be retarded for this not to have been online. Wasn't Melee one of the few GC games that had online?

At E3 2006, Nintendo says "Smash Bros... Online!" and the whole world goes into meltdown but they haven't ever mentioned it since and after MP3:C lost its online MP, people were worried.

And nope, Melee was offline only.
 
If Nintendo didn't make SSBB online they'd have to be screwed in the head, it's all they really have in terms of potential online multiplayer killer apps.

This game is at it's best when 4 people are beating the sh*t out of each other. Now you don't have to have a freaking party to do it.

Sometimes you can't get all your friends together for a match. Sometimes you want to fight against new people because you know all your friends' playing styles and tactics, and you want to train against other people. Sometimes, it's two in the morning and you want to play, but you don't want to fight against the shitty computer. THAT'S the point.

This is cool news, but damn it, the only SSBB news I wanna hear is, "Newcomer: Sonic!" FFS just tell me one way or the other, Nintendo.

All Sonic represnets to me now is a once great character and series of games that became mind-numbingly awful. He's dead to me :'(

To get back on topic - good news :) tbh i've been living in a bubble of ignorance since SSB was announced on the Wii and always thought it was going to be online.

I think most people assumed it would be also. As was mentioned, I think the freak out began when Retro confirmed MP3 was not online. But, it's awesome that Nintendo confirmed the status. :thumbs: This should be one of the deepest fighting games EVER made if it lives up to the hype. Can't wait.

Yay for being able to play with a bunch of lameasses using lameass tactics! Bots were always fine for me, and if you were playing with other people and they were a lameass you take the fight outside the game!


Come on, you know you'll fight the guy that runs around like a shithead as pikachu in a stock match and lets everyone else waste their lives on each other and other similar shit... but hey, I shouldn't have to worry about turning off voice chat (god I hate ****ing voice chat... everyone shut the **** up and type) and then wondering if I'm missing anything.
 
I can't wait for Samus plus Zero Suit. Of new characters... probably Pit. Or Pokemon Trainer. :E

Heh, they are now saying that the game is likely going to be delayed as it was in Japan (Jan24-08 now). So yeah, put the knife/gun/pills/rope down and relax for a bit--you've got (a little) more living to do!!
 
This calls for some sort of Asuka-esque keyboard jamming. But tbh, I don't wanna hurt my Wii USB keyboard. D:
 
REJOICE! SSBB is confirmed to have a stage builder and even downloadable stages made by others!
