SMC Router Help

I recently pruchased an SMC router and am now trying to connect my upstairs computer to the internet. However, its not working. My downstairs computer can run the internet fine but the upstairs one cannot. I have installed all the drivers for the router on the downstairs computer And have connected all the cables in the right spot. If anyone could help me configure my modem to give me access to the internet from my upstairs computer it would be greatly appreciated.

Try to push the "reset" button on your Router when you've installed it on both computers... This could work, it does with mine and my friends'...

Can the two computers share and transfer files from each other? If not it may be a matter of adding your upstairs computer to your network. Depending on which OS you have, use the network setup wizard.
