Any1 tryed Unreal 2?
Remember in it that when you threw a smokegrenade and then a frag next to the smoke the shock wave would blow the smoke away abit. Just like in reality.

I wounder if they'll do this in CS:S. Some would think that it would make the SG useless. Though, its not like every1 is carying a frag, and the one who do would have to chose if they would use it to move the smoke a bit or not.(maby in the start every1 will run around blowing up smoke, but later they'll stopp blowing it up just for fun))

I'm not saying that 1 frag should remove the smoke completly, just if you for example:throw a frag at bottem of the smoke, it would blow it to above knee level or a little bit higher.

This i think would add an extra little layer of polish(sry my bad english. Not the country, but the think you do to a car to make it shiny) on the game.
You reading this Valve?

If I remember correctly in Unreal 2, you only got that effect when you threw a concussion grenade next to the smoke. As CS:S doesn't have Conc Grens, you probably won't get the same effect even if it is supported. If it is supported though, you should get some small effect anyway off a frag gren.

how do you know thats reality?? have you ever seen the smoke and frag been thrown at same time

I'd like to see the smoke blow and spread out around as players run through it.

I like to see smoke used more often, but so many people complain about "It lags my computer, whoever is throwing smoke stop you noob!" Pisses me off. Wish people would stop being tight wads and buy a decent comp.

The way smoke is rendered in CS currently is very messy and outdated. It's all done on the CPU i believe.

CS:S will make use of all your graphics cards lovely features so smoke will cause virtually no slow down at all. Like in Quake3 when you see smoke your FPS does not drop at all (assuming your computer is greater than 1.5ghz, geforce 3 or thereabouts)

In that high res CS:S footage, you hear someone from Valve in the background mentioning something about smokegrenades right after he mentioned physics and how they affected gameplay. Couldn't hear it very good though. So, it's a maybe, but wouldn't count on it.

That piece of footage is btw when the player crawls through the hole in the wall on the dust2 bombsite.

No need of smoke that is afected by any other thing (wind, players, HE) although it would be great :)

I think it is more important that it's thick, NOT "see-through" smoke and no setting available to turn the smoke down like these days please.

Omg.....have you even noticed that when a frag explosed it sends out a shockwave that can move heavy things like barrels/humans/rocks, therefore a frag is perfectly able to move ultra light smoke you (no i shouldent say that)

If they should implement the feature of blowing away smoke with a HE then they should also make sure the players are blown away. Could lead to fancy situations.
