snipers on coffee break

I've just met up with Barney, and he asked me to take out the snipers so he can come down--I take out the one right across the gap, but the rest have vanished, and won't come back--and he won't come down, either. I tried restoring from a much earlier saved game and working my way back up, but the same thing happened. How can I make that darned coward believe the snipers are gone, so he'll come down and lead me to the next part?

same thing happened to me except all of teh snipers were there but i finally got him to come down u might have to move things with gravity gun

If you walk up the stairs the snipers will re-appear (Well, worked for me anyway)

Best way is to leg it from the top of the stairs and drop down to cover, as they will shoot at you as soon as they appear.

The snipers stayed 'til I killed them this time, but it didn't seem to help--I moved things around, but couldn't see any way to get up to where he was, or even close. I started a new game from that level, but still couldn't get past that point.

If you look around the floor below barney, at one end is an open door and behind that a staircase leading to the roof. When you get up there more snipers will appear. Once you take them out Barney will take the lead.
