Just recently back from france (La Tania - Three Valeys) snowboarding. Had an awsome time, the snow was so deep it was hard to keep on our feet sometimes but we found some ripping off piste runs so everything was coo :)

I myself, Roy, have been snowboarding a total of 8 days. Stu about 9 and Rob just 5.

We put together a wee video of us messing around, with more bails than us accutaly landing, but thats because we only had enough battery to last us the first 2 days :(

Its 45MB and only 5mins long so not worthwhile if youve got 56K but its funny enough and cool enough if youve got ADSL

I can't do direct linking to files on the space its hosted on so just follow this link and click on "First Video" to download.

Tell me what you think :)

EDIT:: LOL linky :) http://xavier.computing.dundee.ac.uk/rmudie/sites/oll/

EDIT2:: Oh yeah, we came up with "One Life Left" just as a mock sort of brand name company type thing.

Theres a fifteen minute editing time on this forum.

Ill check out that video in awhile.

ha ha you used fisheye lens!
anyway yeah... i know how to snowboard, and i always fall a million times... but, good for you

snowboarding is pure fun (if you know how to). the first 3 days i was just falling around ;o

I love snowboarding...it helped a lot that i skate. I hardly ever fall over on a snowbaord because im already used to balacing in a similar way...There are differences though that catch me out and i go down hard. But yeah, i adore snowboarding so much. Last time i went was actually about a year ago, it was during the easter when i went to visit my brother in san fransisco, we headed over to the mountains.
Next year, we are planning on going to the French alps for a week or two...should be great :D

i never been snowboarding but ive been skiing quite a few times, im going 3 times next year  the french alps are a well good place to go, personally we go to a place called les gets near morzine. i dont use those big long chunky skiis by the way, snowblades all the way baby! they're soo fun :p

Hehe....I've always been a skiier, but I'd imagine I could pick up snowboarding with a little practice. I wonder if wakeboarding skills would translate over...

I was wondering the exact opposite.... :)

My mate just got a wakeboard, hes got ski's but ive never used them but i really want to try wakeboarding.

Yeah, we all fall over alot in that vid, but like I said, thats the way we edited it just to make it a slight break from the norm and a good laugh.

And yeah, we use a fish eye lens! what of it!

We use it so we can get more in the shot and when you can't see through the viewfinder because there is too much glare. It allows you to point the camera in the ruff direction and still get them in shot.Only thing is it makes jumps look really small unless you get really close up :(

Glad to see so many people like snowboarding, we all skate but like snowboarding ALOT more. Alot more fun, you can have a good time just racing down the side of a mountain as well hitting jumps or going down and easy run, carving from side to side.

We just booked our holiday to La Tania for next year as well as Soldeu in Andora for chrimbo.

Oh yeah, and someone said something about 2 weeks snowboarding! OMG I would so love to do that... I hate leaving... but I don't think my back could take 2 weeks of the crap we try :)

never tried snowboarding...to mouch trouble in the lift line! :) I have tried Snow blades 2 times tho..they are cool..and i really want to try wakeboarding...i have a feeling im good at it somehow :p

Hehe...wakeboarding is one of those things that you got to be prepared to bite it a lot. Its not to hard to get it going with some practice, especially if you have experience on the water, but I've spent entire days doing runs where I'd try to jump and just end up face first in the water.

whats a curving ski?
also, has anyone tried one of those "monoskis"? im not sure if thats wot they are really called but thats wot i call them. its like one fat ski and both feet are strapped on together facing forwards, crazy, always wondered whether they were any good.

someone explain what "<3" means...

OMG yeah! Saw quite a few of them on my hols, they look crazy.

I asked one guy that I got in the gondala with why he uses it and he just says he prefers it.... He was german and didnt speak much english.

He said he's never snowboarded before and just went straight from ski's to them and he that picked it up fast.

P.S. It too me a while but I figured out what the <3 means..... its ment to be a heart, as in he "loves" snowboarding

The thread title left me with the impression that an infant had learned to snowboard. :p
