You can still do that from what I've seen, its not like you cant fight while controlling all those dudes...
 
Wrong. Yes, you can order them around, but there's still some awesome BRUTAL combat! I just spent all morning playing Brutal Legend at my friend's house. ****ING AWESOME!
 
The demo was pretty sweet. The main menu and opening cut scene were ****in' awesome.
 
I'm relieved that's it is an RTS. All of the trailers show the "terrain" fairly empty or not as busy like most third-person adventure games.
 
It's NOT and RTS. The only strategy part about it is gathering Fans and telling your road crew whether they should attack a position, defend a position, or follow you around. The rest is you jumping into the fray and slaying the enemy with your mighty axe and guitar!
 
Thats because the game was originally (5 years ago or so) meant to be an RTS with a heavy metal theme. They then changed it to an rpg of sorts, with hack and slash mechanics.

And the RTS sections require you to capture points, get fans (resources), build your army and destroy the other faction's HQ (Stage). Its much less complicated than it sounds apparently.

This is why i'm a little pissed. The game wasn't sold like this at all. I appreciate it's not a full on rts and that there's plenty of hacking and slashing, but it isn't the adventure game the demo and previews suggested. Capture points, resources and HQs, regardless of how complex these rts elements are, do not appeal to me at all.
 
I think I remember right that on an interview it was said that the RTS sections in the SP portions of the game serve as a tutorial for the MP.

So its in the SP but not a real emphasis, although im sure theyll add a battle or two in the SP.
