So I've had my D40x for like 3 weeks now, so in no particular order I would like to show off some of the photos I have taken with it, feel free to comment and/or critique:

Beautiful pictures. The leaf (pic 3) and whatever this one is are my favorite. Really crisp, great contrast.

I need to look up this camera.

All extremeley super awesome. I didn't like the car ones so much, but the other ones were all excellent.

I'm looking at these and it's like I can smell them.

The underground tunnel picture looks very half life esque. I enjoy these shots, keep up the excellent work man.

Numbers 4, 9, 11, 13 and 14 are my favorites. Very awesome pictures. Underground tunnel is my new wallpaper.

I need to look up this camera.

It's very nice, it's a direct competitor to the canon XTi and personally I like it a lot more. It feels better in my hand, and like it's built with greater quality. Even doing little things like twisting the knob or pressing buttons, the nikon just feels nicer.

In terms of picture quality they're pretty much the same, so it all boiled down to 'feel'; even in price they're like $50 apart from each other (the canon being more expensive).

I really appreciate all the comments guys!

Skills...

How many of those are digitally rebalanced? #6 looks HDRIsh.

Awesome stuff

I relly like how in the 16th pic the car 'blends' so nicely with the grass.

My friend's E550, it was way too yellow in the tunnel, so I messed with the colors a little. I think I could do better, but here's two shots:

One more for the silhouette:

I've looked at this thread before, but now that I've got a few pints in me I've been willing to actually analyse some of your pictures. This one of a leaf drowning in bright blue water displays a clear yet touching message; the destruction of nature by artificial products. The contrasting colours make it disgusting to look at, yet this is why it's so good. You're repulsed by the garish, offensive blue which dominates the picture and engulfs the leaf. The metaphor relates to many aspects of everyday life; artificial additives in otherwise pure fruit juice, the use of fertilisers in crops and the corrosion of architecture due to acidic chemicals in the rain. I'm not sure whether you intended this, but art is in the eye of the beholder, and it's a great picture nonetheless.

You continue this theme in many of your other pictures as well. Disused urban environments are full of bright, off-putting colours which contradict themselves, whilst nature continues to thrive despite all odds.

Mind you, your car pictures imply something completely different. They show that advanced technology, buildings and nature can coexist beautifully. This particular photo is inspiring; the old is juxtaposed with the new, whilst the graffiti "faith" promotes the positive outlook that humanity will continue to expand and improve.

You're a wonderful photographer.

I wish this dumb bitch would have moved...but I guess she just wanted to have her picture taken...
