I'm borrowing my friends PS2 and a few games tommorrow. Just wondering if MGS3 was any good compaired to the other 2 games? I LOVED MGS and MGS2 but I have to admit, going back in time is not that appealing to me. I mean the 60s?! That just dosent feel very, uh... metal gear solidish to me.

Anyway, is it good? I will probably play it regardless, just wanted to know what to expect.

Yeah I felt it was a departation from what I loved, I never could get into it when I played my friends copies, but many others hail it as the best mgs to date. I say blasphemy mgs for psx all teh way \:D/

I liked the game. However, I can't find my PS2 now. Oh well. KOTOR2 for me, I suppose.

Yeah thats what my friend says too. He also kinda gave me a hint about how
Nothing is really as it seems when it comes to the games story (duh) and time setting which leaves me to believe that it might not take place in the 60s at all. Who the hell knows with MGS.
Don't tell me if thats true or not though.

I played and is very cool, well I didnt hav the change to play the 2 but the 3 is very cool

it hav it jungle soldier style that sure will not dissapoint you

and if is in the 60 is a problem? well you will not hav the clasical radar but you will hav a lot of usefull gadgets, and it dont hav so much difrence in time, the weapons are normals AK47 and m16 and the gameplay will be use of camouflage and hide in the plants, but offcourse are more places but the principal is in the jungle

and what things of the clasicals MGS hav?

well it hav very cool boses,I will not spoil you but they are very cool, still I didnt beated the game yet so I dont know all the boses but from what I fight the boses are really cool

I thinks that enough to not spoil you

but if ypu hav questiong you can ask

but I say that this game just convince me that the MGS series are one of the best ever

and I want to play the 2 too

I definitely liked it better than 2, but I still can't get over the top down perspective.

They really need to take a que from splinter cell and go over-the shoulder. Especially when they don't give you a radar. As it stands in MGS3 you're going into First-person view constantly to check to see if the path is clear, moving 20 steps in top-down view, rinsing, repeating. Still has a great cast of characters though.

Well if it's better than 2 then I will probably love it. I thought MGS2 was better than MGS (I know, I know).

i thought it sucked....mgs2 is way better
While I absolutely love MGS2, especially for takinbg a risk and being very cerebral, MGS3 takes the best of both MGS and MGS2, mixes it with some awesome ideas like camo and the jungle setting, also making sure to keep it really cinematic, and it all works great

I thought it was great. The lack of the soliton radar made it more challenging. I thought the whole battery-powered sonar and motion tracker was gonna be annoying but it's not.

The story is solid - less twists and turns than MSG2 but very good. They fill in some of the questions you may have about how things came to be in MGS1 which is cool.

CQC rules :) I played MGS1 & 2 again recently and without CQC the game seems lacking :P

the game is amazing in every sense of the word... just everything about it is flawless in every way... best MGS game ever.... hell, one of the best games ever! play it or i will hunt you down and be forced to gut you and send your intestines to Hideo Kojima

I thought MGS2 was better also, MGS 1 kicked ass though. It was just such a new type of game when I played it for the first time.

Oh I see you americans get it first :P I was wondering why I missed the release of MGS3 :D
