So, I got Gimp...

Here's my first try. I might use it for the mod I'm in (see sig). I know that the shading's odd but, besides that, any advice?

may i ask what gimp is??? lol, i presume its a drawing program but it it for a wacom or soemthing? i just use old fashioned pen and paper and i know i say this to everyone, but that is really good.

It's a freeware computer painting program. It's like Photoshop, but not as good because it's free.
If you go to the link I posted up there, you can get it for yourself.

I use old-fashioned pen and paper too. The ouline for the robot is a sketch I scanned in. The rest was mouse-painted. No wacom required.

I do want a wacom now though, because it could really simplify things.

wow, thats amazing for mouse painted. I may try and do some of that stuff when i get my new MX500 mouse. my old optical 1 broke round about the time far cry demo came out i have a crappy ballmouse thats really old now

bah, get an MX700! lol, you can get the Cordless Logitech Elite Duo for ~$50 USD, that's cheaper than a standalone MX700 (the duo comes with an MX700)

I dunno if it is going to be in the mod, because it's actualy supposed to be a hover-robot. You toss a grenade-like beacon, and it calls in a bunch of gun-equipped hoverbots to kill anything in the radius of the signal.
It's like the antlion spores. Except they will attack the signaler, as well as anything that moves, with machinegun fire. Sort of a last-ditch mega-snark.

Anywho, I think I'm getting a hang of the Gimp painting. I'm just not used to having more than twelve colours.

Also, does anyone know how to obtain a very cheap wacom?
