And it seriously gave a chuckle. This is one of the games (among others) that I used to play in my child years. Yet I was too young to figure out some of the jokes.
Has anyone ever played most of these franchises? I had Zork Nemesis before hand but now it's completely dead, I was like 5 when it came out, and I wasn't allowed to play it since of the "Some scenes are not suitable for young children". The idea of seeing a guy getting his head chopped off was pretty :x for me then. No doubt I want to play it now.

So does anyone have any childhood games they liked around that age?

I played all the Zork games that didn't have graphics...not to mention all of the Infocom games in general. That was how adventure gaming got started for me. Learning to program my own adventures in BASIC just made sense when pen-and-paper Dungeons and Dragons had me completely smitten. Now the computer could be the Dungeon Master! Sweet!! Its only grown from there. :)

The other games from my youth that I will ALWAYS play and love and that always take me back to the days before my innocence was lost and gaming jaded me are the classic LucasArts adventures like the Monkey Island series, Fate of Atlantis, Sam & Max, etc etc etc. Such good times will likely never be had again in gaming (for me at least). I actually feel sorry for the youth of today because they didn't grow up watching the monumental evolution of gaming lo the last 25 years or so. Poor them. ;(

'under a killing moon' and 'the Pandora directive'.

and Z:GI was awesome too...

I had Under A Killing Moon when I was... 4... 5? I had completely forgotten what the game was like, though I vaguely remember a clown mask, a UFO, and 100s of freakin' CDs to install the thing.

I remember playing some erotic adventure game on my friend's crapbox PC. We just went around typing "f*ck" at everything.

More often than not, it worked :p

that wasn't an early leisure suit larry was it? i recall playing that one at a friends too!

the clown was in the back of his shop in the acid ;)

and yes alot of cd's for a game of that age... so were the zork games come to think of it.

I played something along the lines of Ice Mountain or the likes, that and Dino Park Tycoon and Oregon Trail...

Can't forget terrorizing cities in Sim City 2000 either :p
