So many bugs Half-life 2, do you have these too?

I don't know about you but but for me there's so many bugs in Half-life 2. Mostly graphical glitches such as arms and weapons of the enemies sticking out through walls/doors that they are behind, strider legs sticking trough rocks and walls, shadows of the combine soldiers getting rendered trough walls e.t.c the list is endless, in every scene there is some kind of wierd bug for me, like those headcrab/spiders walking in the air when they climb on the fences in ravenholm.

Or in the section in Anticitizen One where you cover Alyx while she gets the generator vulnerable, there when i quickload she gets stuck behind the wall when it closes, and i can hear her say "barney should be on the far side of that cannel.." but she is trapped behind the closed wall with the combine.

Is it really supposed to be like this? What can i do to fix all of it?
Am i running the wrong ATI driver (I use the latest, 5.3 i think)
or does it have to do with processor and stuff? I have also had some AI glitches such as enemies just stopping where they are e.t.c.

note that this is a perfectly legal copy of Half-life 2 that I bought on the release day. I also get the impression that the first versions worked much better but since you are forced to download the new patches to play the game on Steam.. well.. what to dO?
 
The first one is just that ragdolls seem to clip through just about everything. It's probably some technical issue I don't understand, but it happens with everyone. The zombies are supposed to do that. The Alyx thing is probably somekind of scripting error, just play through that part again minus the quickload and it should work.
