Windows, grids, memory, speed and sand seem fairly unrelated things, right? Not until you've used my laptop to play HL2.
I get many, mnay glitches in my games, some of them being:

-Sometimes windows, when smashed, with create a white grid where the glass used to be.
-The flashlight illuminates objects, but not the actual place it's pointing at.
-I get the dreaded "memory could not be 'read'" error in Sandtraps just after the first Combine outpost.
-Much lag, have I.
-Whenever I try to change advanced video settings, I also get the "memory could not be 'read'" error.

My post is here for two reasons:
1) To see if I can get any help.
2) To see if anyone can count ore glitches on their version of HL2.

Any help is much appreciated. :stare:

I have:
P4 2.664 Ghz
512 RAM
64M Intel onboard card

While I know my card sucks, it does, in fact, seet the minimum requirements, so I see no reason why I should get graphical glitches.

I think you need an ATI or nVidia graphics card. That should fix your white grid and flashlight problems.

yeah... and buy Radeon Cards... im using a Radeon card and even if my PC is weak. I can still play it with moderated lags on some levels.

Hmm. But my card is an onboard card, meaning it can't be replaced. Perhaps there's another slot in the motherboard that can support a new video card.

Oh, and another error to add to that list:
-Characters speaking from behind a digital screen speak *really* quietly, meaning I have to have both my laptop and headphones turned up to full to hear them.
