So, if you go to Gmail, at the bottom left of the page is a "Sign up Gmail using your mobile phone" link. Click it (obviously) and type in your cell number and they will send you a registration number to your mobile. Put it in the response field and Lo and Behold! Your own Gmail account without an invite! Gmail for all (people with cell phones)!:bounce:

I don't see the link, but maybe its an american thing, I know they have had other mobile phone based services that are only available to people in america.

OMG! Wow, I thought it was something spectacularly special, not that special. I can't believe I just tried it out, should have read your post thoroughly, now I probably just gave out my god damn number to Google so they can give it to some 3rd party spokeperson that's going to spam me with, "Hey! Are you interested subscribing to New York Times!?"
