So, what's HDR? Demo here.

I saw this a long time ago but it's still a very interesting demo.
 
I sometimes just watch this demo and play around with the different shapes/angles/speeds/colors/luminosities
 
man those are some insane graphics
 
and thats the kinda thing you'll see in HL2 if HDR is in it
 
I had that demo too for quite sometime now.

Man, those flares / glares / blooms .... wow ! I swear sometimes it actually looks like a real video. Love the way it effects object's edges. Totally real.

And that 141-iris blade depth-of-field effect is quite impressive (for a real-time demo).

If anyone hasn't seen that demo ... go see it now. Remember to change glares (G), materials (M), exposure (UP and DOWN), objects (O), depth-of-fleld (DOF) filters and light environments (Ctrl+L). Remember; it needs AT LEAST a DirectX 9 class graphics card to run. DirectX 8 or minus card owners need not bother at all.

I've also exported some custom created objects to this demo to that you can see how HDR works on my objects. Let me know if you need any.
 
Well it doesn't have a lot to do with CS specifically but it does have to do with the Source engine, which we hoped would have HDR enabled at least for HL2. I hope to see it in sometime
