Okay, so the problem is that I've discovered I won't be able to play the Orange Box on my current computer (whose 1.4 GHz processor falls short of the 1.7 requirement published by Valve). I'm now puzzling over what to do aout it. The fact that I live in Japan, where the Half-Life series is all but unknown doesn't help matters much. To make things even worse, Valve won't allow me to buy and download games while I'm living here--don't remember why, exactly, but it could have to do with the fact that my credit card billing address is still in Canada and, as such, doesn't correspond to the location of my residence.

So, should I:

A) have the retail Orange Box sent to me and try to play it on my current computer anyway.

B) buy an X-Box 360 (region-specific) and hope Valve releases a Japanese version of the game--though perhaps any region 2 copy would do...

C) buy a PS3 (region free) and wait till November to play Orange Box.

D) renew my long-deceased obsession with Minesweeper

If you like consoles, get an X360, but get an American or Europe version, so that you can be sure to get the OB. If you like computers, I'd just get parts for it to make it better. So either A or B will be fine.

Buy a new computer for god's sake. Japan is the epitome of technology and you have a P3 Processor, what must you be thinking..

You can always play Half-Life 2: Survivor in Japan. You lucky dog, you.

Note: Get it for Xbox 360, it has a cross-platform support.

No it dont lol, anyway get a computer and import it from the US or Europe.

Depending on monetary sitations, either build a super-mecha-hyper-japan-computer-zord and have it sent to you. Or buy a Japanese 360 and play an American copy of OB. It shouldn't matter. May be worth researching though.
