So wheres my CS:CZ?

Hi, I got Half-Life 2 Collectors Edition (only came with DVD, hint book, and shirt.. disapointment)
But it says you get all the Source titles at the moment CS:Source, Half-Life 2, Half-Life:Source, DoD:Source, AND VALVE's back titles, which is a link. If you click that link you see a list of previous games, one being "Counter-Strike:Condition Zero" except, where is it? :(

CS:CZ isn't source.

I got it though, when I got Gold off of steam...
 
The Retail CE Only comes with Hl2, HlS, Css. Not dod:s or back catalog. Reason for that is because dod isnt published by vu.

Blame it on Valve for wanting you to buy it on STEAM and making (imo) a craptastic CE. Vivendi would've loved for a better CE to get a bigger share of the retail profits.

You joined in September and have 240 posts, and you didn't know this? Damn man, do some research,this had to be on the front page of every fansite way before the HL2 release. People have been talking about this for months on message boards, too.

Blame it on Valve for wanting you to buy it on STEAM and making (imo) a craptastic CE. Vivendi would've loved for a better CE to get a bigger share of the retail profits.

You my friend are retarded. Vivendi is the one who makes the CE and retail packages not Valve. VU also sets the prices. Im sure if valve got there way the CE would be better. I mean look at the steam gold pack you get 90% more things. That was valves CE.

so you misread the hl2 gold package as being the retail ce package and it's who's fault ?

I wanted to play with bots, my connection isn't so great.

I also wanted DoD:Source.
I feel bad for my mother, she bought me this for christmas. $80.00 for a t-shirt, dvd copy of the game, and small hint book. Your saying I should've done my research? I'm more of a frequent reader than a post whore at these forums, and i've never seen a thread containing this subject line in its topic.

Its been posted many times + you should go on the official steam webside. www.steampowered.com and it shows all the prices for steam etc. Go to www.gamestop.com for retail boxes and prices.

Also, I'm sure it was on the box. I assume you saw the box if you got it from a store? If you got it online, more fool you ....

(and yes, I know it was your mother who paid for it ... if you left her to do it all, incredibly more fool you...)

To be helpful, if you really want the back catalogue just pay for the Silver edition on steam too - it's less expensive than you may think.

My mindset at christmas was since it's $20.00 more than Silver, then it would only be LOGICAL that it did have CS:CZ andd DoD:Source, so basically she wasted $20.00 for less and a t-shirt.

Oh well, nothing I can do now. Hopefully the price on DoD:Source won't be to bad, and if it is i'll expect it to have new textures, and models a la CS Source.

DOD:S will probably be 30$ when it comes out. Maybe 20$. But i got the CE and a steam pack. On my CE it says what it comes with on the back.

Where did you buy yours? All I have on the back is some artwork, and the minimum requirements.

It's valves products. So that is done in Valves intrests. Since they did work 5 years on the damn game, what did Vivendi do? Put it in a pretty box? Exactly.
 
Valve deserves ALL of the money from Half-Life 2, not like the 10% they get from retail games.

Black box. Gordon, Alyx, gman on front. Back has artwork and it says special features. Cs:s Hl:s

We've reported the news on our front page as it happened, it's on the SteamPowered website, we've got a page full of the details right here. You don't need to be a post whore or anything like that to have known about this.

Sorry dude, but maybe the store will let you take it back or exchange it for something else. Explain to them that you bought it for yourself and someone bought it for you as a gift. They'll get that all the time at this time of the year. Also, I don't know about your country, but over here you have 28 days (actually possibly up to 12 months I think) to return a product. Give it a go. If you can get a refund, use it to purchase the Silver package and you'll get what you need :)

Agreed. 100% Here in New york for some reason Gamestop no longer allows game retures. I thought it was for valve games only 1st (Steam account) But then i noticed they said the same for another game. It use to be a week for returnes for a opened box (on exchanges for same product) and if it wasnt opened you can bring it back for cash. As of now if the box is opened you cant reture it at all. (They only take it back if its not been opened)

How am I blaming this on VALVe? I'm not, it's just a crock of a bullshit that someone had to pay more to get less.
To be honest I actually thought the CE would be more like the Gold Edition (damn confusion) and it would actually make sense since your paying more for there to be the extra benefits as well.

I can't believe something that can be so simple, has to be so complicated. Why should I have to search forums, read at numerous different sites, so I can see all of this? I haven't seen a newspost explaining the CE doesn't include what lower price proucts have. Again, logic comes to in to play here.

go to steampowered.com, look, read.

all those other sites were just other places where the information was displayed.

and, it says on the back of the box, because you bought ce, and you did get the same box as everyone else, it tells you what it came with.

the only misleading thing is where it says "prima hintbook" and fails to say 'sample.'
