You choose to protect a thief rather than make a legitimate exception to the privacy policy that you yourself wrote? And why did you remove my e-mail address? Is it also against your privacy policy to ask members of your forum for information that might help me identify a THIEF? No wonder that type of individuals hang around these places.
 
Why did he do what he did?

Because he is a law abiding good willed citizen. He would rather respect the privacy of others, and the trust that one gains by registering, than hand over private information to you, somebody who is no better than a thief.

If he indeed decieved you into thinking that it was a game update, then I would like a link to where that information was given (not to be a vigilante, but because i'm curious :p)

I do agree though, Chris, you should at least inform his ISP yourself.

We don't give anyones personal information out regardless of what they've done. The only way we will pass on his information is if a warrant is issued to use that information in a court of law.
