Softimage and Only Softimage

Is it true that only softimage will work for half life 2 mods?? Or can we use different programs like 3D max, Maya, and the like. I'm not a modeler so don't hurt me. Just wondering because it was brought up on another forum.

Valve will provide exporters for 3ds max, Maya, etc.

they are including some sort of exporter for HL2,, but whether that exports into HL2 XSI or HL2 hasn't been stated


couldn't hurt to get the basic UI down,, I think I've found a project for the night
