Software disk striping with Win2k

Would having software striping via Disk management in windows accomplish anything if my hard drives are both on the same IDE Bus? Would my disk transfer rate be held back by the speed of the hard drive, or the bus?

You'll have to bench it really. HDD I/O is much slower than the bus speeds that are available, but software controllers by their nature are slow and come with huge CPU overhead. You may see decreases in performance where you weren't expecting.
